The three main commercial areas in Kimberley are the Downtown which includes the pedestrian Platzl, Marysville at the southern end of Kimberley, and the Kimberley Alpine Resort Village. There is a secondary commercial area in Blarchmont and various pockets of neighborhood commercial development elsewhere in the municipality.

The community has illustrated a desire for the City to encourage the revitalization of our commercial areas. The City has partnerships with Marysville and Platzl business owners that have resulted in major upgrades to the Marysville streetscape and Platzl’s public pedestrian area. This plan also includes revised development permit regulations and design guidelines for commercial development and revitalization.

The City of Kimberley has additional industrial lands for sale and wishes to offer greater flexibility in addressing the type of uses permitted in the industrial areas which will focus on light industrial uses. Service commercial, office, value-added wood products, light manufacturing, wholesaling and cottage industries are examples of industries that the City would like to attract.
